Welcome to Unique Learners Academy - a legacy of care and learning that began with Dr. Angela Dawson's passion for early childhood development. Founded in 1996 as a home daycare, Dr. Angela's nurturing environment quickly became a second home for many families in Oak Park. Her dedication and commitment to providing a supportive educational experience were evident as she raised her own daughter, Airealle Smith, affectionately known as "Airie," within the daycare.
Growing up immersed in the nurturing atmosphere, Airie developed a deep love for teaching and decided to pursue a career in early childhood education at the age of 18 in 2010. Together, they continued to run the daycare from their home in Oak Park, providing children with a loving and stimulating environment for over two decades.
In 2022, their vision expanded as they moved into their first brick and mortar building, broadening their impact and service to more families in the community. Now, fueled by the desire to continue their legacy of care and teaching, they proudly announce the opening of Unique Learners Academy. With a wealth of experience, a heart for each child's individuality, and a commitment to fostering curiosity and growth, Unique Learners Academy is poised to provide an exceptional learning journey for children aged 12 months to 5 years.
